Meet Diana Washington
Greetings! My name is Diana Washington, and I am a full-spectrum, trauma-informed doula dedicated to providing compassionate, inclusive, and evidence-based care throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. My mission is to ensure you feel safe, respected, informed, and empowered every step of the way. I am committed to creating a supportive environment where your voice is heard, your choices are honored, and you feel confident navigating your unique birth experience.
When I'm not attending births or supporting families during postpartum visits, you'll find me recharging by connecting with nature. I enjoy caring for my ever-growing collection of houseplants, spending time with my beloved fur babies, and exploring the outdoors. These moments help me stay grounded and nurture my own well-being, allowing me to bring a calm, compassionate, and holistic presence to every family I have the privilege of serving.
I look forward to supporting you through one of life's most transformative experiences and helping you feel empowered, cared for, and confident every step of the way.
My calling to become a doula grew from a deep desire to help break cycles of transgenerational birth trauma and support families in creating positive, empowering birth experiences. In 2020, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Public Health, where I learned that one of the foundational principles of public health is prevention—promoting wellness, reducing health disparities, and improving health outcomes before challenges arise.
That philosophy continues to guide my work today. I provide continuous emotional, physical, and evidence-based educational support throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, equipping families with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions that align with their values, goals, and birth preferences.
During my public health education, I repeatedly encountered research confirming what many families already know through lived experience: underserved communities—including Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC), as well as LGBTQIA+ individuals—continue to face significant maternal health disparities and disproportionately poor birth outcomes. Witnessing these inequities strengthened my commitment to birth advocacy and inspired me to become part of the solution.
I believe every family deserves respectful, compassionate, culturally responsive, and individualized care. My goal is to help bridge gaps in maternal healthcare by offering personalized support, advocacy, and education throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period. I strive to create a safe and affirming space where every client feels seen, heard, valued, and supported—regardless of their background, identity, or birth preferences.
As your doula, I am honored to walk alongside you with compassion, encouragement, and unwavering support. Every birth story is unique, and every family deserves the opportunity to feel informed, confident, and deeply supported throughout their journey into parenthood.
